Felony burglary charges were dropped against landlord Dario Pini for attempting to carry off a handful of items he found at the site of demolished apartment complex on Carrillo Street; instead, the District Attorney’s Office has re-filed the complaint as a misdemeanor. The trial is scheduled to take place next week.

While he has made a career of being a jackass, nobody else would have been charged for stealing garbage that was going to be hauled off by Marborg. How come the left and right are not howling about the waste of money for prosecuting someone for stealing stuff that was being discarded?

Interesting how the press has cast this in so many different lights...First he was full robbing the place, now it is a case of him grabbing garbage to use on his lovely rentals. Unbelievable.

It's all about your connections. Had the same crime been committed by a person of lesser means, the charges would undoubtedly include felony burglary. It's the same the whole world over - you get what you pay for, and that includes "justice".

Yet again another feather in the cap of Howdy-Doody Dudley. She seems to have learned well the lessons of Tom Sneddon: waste taxpayer money at will in pursuit of headlines. If Pini has any sense, he'll go to federal court and slam these idiots with a nice fat conspiracy, malicious prosecution, witness tampering, and racketeering lawsuit. This idiot county will give him a couple million in a nice, quiet settlement just to avoid the truth coming out about their corrupt officials.

Pini remains his own worst enemy. Anyone else tired of seeing this shameless reprobate in our weekly news? Pathetic human being.
