Veterans Event Scheduled For Fall

Stand Down, a highly successful event for veterans organized by 5th District Supervisor Steve Lavagnino, is scheduled again for this fall. Offerings include free meals; mental, dental, and medical assistance; haircuts; and a bunch of supplies for veterans, homeless or otherwise. The 2012 event — the first ever — was attended by 229 veterans, including 94 homeless.
