Winston Smith Incarnate

I wish that the late writer Eric Blair were alive today

And that I, with him, could share my Orwellian nightmare

I would tell him that I no longer know whom to trust

That my computerized electronic mail account may be compromised

That web searches of my name are inordinately undermined

That my lone telephone has probably been tapped

That my old-fashioned postal mail may be intercepted

That I am largely rejected and subjected to defamation and defeat

That most of the media outlets are Christianizing and totalitarian

That I sadly state that I am his protagonist Winston Smith incarnate
