Benjamin Ybarra

Santa Barbara gang member Benjamin Ybarra, 35, was arrested Tuesday on charges of being a felon in possession of a gun and ammunition, and for manufacturing a controlled substance, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department. Prior to Ybarra’s arrest, detectives served a search warrant — for weapons, narcotics, and indications of gang participation — at his house on the 900 block of East Ortega Street. Inside, police found a loaded .32 caliber handgun, marijuana, and equipment for making marijuana into hashish oil. Ybarra was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail at $180,000 bail.

I blame the "war on drugs"! These guys HAD to be on drugs when they did this. There's no way upstanding citizens such as this could commit a crime or hurt a fly! Or maybe racism reared it's ugly head & they were set up due to racial profiling! Better yet, it was Bush's fault! These are nice kids, they don't hurt nobody!

Oopsie! That was meant for the escaped parolee & his ruca! Sorry! This guy though, LOL! The only war this clown is a victim of is the bad tattoo wars. You gotta be on bad drugs to get inked that poorly!

I'm sure this one can turn his life around now. Just another chance is all that is needed. Maybe some of you could donate some funds, so he can enroll in some classes at UCSB.

No, if it wasn't for the war on drugs, people like this would not be dealing drugs, because it would not be profitable enough for them.

Ya just imagine if dealing drugs on the street corner was about as profitable as dealing oranges on the street corner..

Sorry AZ2SB, guys like this got into the gangbanger life before the drugs kicked in. Those were just a perk after the fact.
Most of the homies I know never touched the stuff to use or sell, they just got into the gangsta scene for the power, the control, they were natural born terrorists, they hated law enforcement & the rucas who were willing to be their baby mommies.
These fools were packin' gats & shanks out of the image. The drugs came later when the parties got intense & the sales of said goods came when they got fireed from their normal jobs for being... Wait for it...l Here it comes... GANG MEMBERS!
So pro favor eses, stop blaming the war on drugs on these individual's reluctance to not be in a gang. You're disgracing the REAL non-violent criminals (pot dealers) that have no gang ties.

So the guys that cut a dispensary owner's penis would have done it anyways even if there was no money involved?
