Suspect In Critical Condition; Very Few Details Released

An unidentified suspect was shot by Santa Barbara Sheriff’s deputies last night off Padaro Lane near Carpinteria. The suspect is in critical condition; no deputies were injured.

According to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kelly Hoover, deputies responded at around 7:45 p.m. to the 3200 block of Beach Club Drive on a report of a possible trespasser. “During the investigation, an officer involved shooting took place,” Hoover said in a prepared statement, explaining no other information on the incident is being released at this time.
