Body Found In Motel 6 Bathtub

UPDATE: Police Investigating Woman’s Death As Possible Suicide


A person was found dead in a Motel 6 bathtub this afternoon, and Santa Barbara officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Police spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood said medics and officers received calls at around 12:20 p.m. of an unresponsive person in a bathtub at the upper State Street motel. They soon requested assistance from the Santa Barbara Coroner’s Office.

No other details have been released, but check back for updates to this story.

[UPDATE]: Sgt. Harwood said police are investigating the death as a possible suicide. The victim, a female, has not been named pending notification of her family. The inquiry into her death continues, Harwood said.
