Police Investigating Near-Fatal Stabbing

A 31-year-old man was found with stab wounds Tuesday night at a home on the 800 block of Bath Street, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department. The man, a Santa Barbara resident whose name is not being released, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital emergency room. Detectives continue to investigate the assault; it is unclear at this time if it is gang-related, but police do not believe the victim has gang ties. The man, authorities said, was not stabbed at the home, but went to the residents’ front door and asked them to call the police.
