New local business Market Zen aims to make farmers market shopping accessible to all

Market Zen, a new local service, aims to make farmers market shopping a whole lot more convenient.

Market Zen, a new local service, aims to make farmers market shopping a whole lot more convenient. Realizing that much of the community is on board with the local food movement, but many people just don’t have the time to make it to the farmers market every week, two locavores created Market Zen, a 100% customizable shopping and delivery service for all of the delicious produce available at the Santa Barbara Farmers Market. Orders can be placed online anytime at marketzensb.com, where shoppers can choose from the amazing variety of veggies and fruits that are in season as well as other goods like nuts, jams, honey, freshly baked breads, pastas, sprouts, oils and more. On Saturday morning, Market Zen does the shopping and delivers the customized order right to the happy patron’s door.

By pricing their service affordably and not requiring a subscription for continual service, Market Zen aims to extend the benefits of farmers market shopping to as many people as possible. Part of Market Zen’s mission is the belief that every dollar spent at the farmers market is a vote for sustainable, local, and organic food, and with enough votes everyday people have the power to create real change towards a brighter, more sustainable food future. Seventy five cents from each delivery is also donated to nonprofits doing amazing work towards a more compassionate food system. Market Zen will be exhibiting at the Sol Food Festival at Vera Cruz Park in downtown Santa Barbara on September 28th. For more information and to place an order visit www.marketzensb.com!
