The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society along with the families, friends, and supporters of Stephanie Waxman, Krista English, and Erika Gomez come together to host a series of bone marrow drives to help find bone marrow matches for Krista and Erika.

Last June, Stephanie Waxman, daughter of Dr. Ken and Shirley Waxman was diagnosed with an advanced stage of an aggressive Leukemia. Her only hope to survive this deadly disease was an immediate bone marrow transplant. Her friends and family rallied together to host a series of bone marrow drives and fortunately she found a match. Family and friends of Krista and Erika are hoping for similar results.

The two individuals that are seeking a bone marrow donation are:

Erika Gomez was diagnosed in April 2013 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia—a cancer of the bone marrow and blood. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and responding well to the treatment, however, she is still in need a bone marrow transplant. She is currently a Santa Barbara resident, mother and wife.

Krista English is a 2-time survivor of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), wife and mother of two boys who are now 15 and almost 12. Her first diagnosis was in 2005 when they were only 3 and 6 and now the leukemia has returned for a third time after a 4 ½ year remission from a prior stem-cell transplant.

Please ask your friends, colleagues, and family members ages 18-44 to register and be included in the bone marrow donor registry. It’s simple, free, and easy.
