Santa Barbara, CA – For immediate release. The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara is holding its annual Dinner and Auction “Surf’s Up for Kids” on Saturday, April 26th, at 5:30 pm at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort, presented by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians and Lyons Family Foundation, and sponsored by Montecito Bank & Trust, and other valuable community partners. The Annual Auction Gala is the largest fundraising event of the year that benefits daily after-school, Saturday, school break, and summer youth programs.

The ‘Surf’s Up’ theme was inspired by Honorary Chair, Board Member, and Emcee, Shaun Tomson. Mr. Thomson has been successfully involved in projects ranging from managing two clothing brands, writing the book, Surfer’s Code and producing the documentary film, Bustin’ Down the Door. Mr. Tomson has been described as one of the greatest surfers of all time (Surfing Magazine 2004) and one of the most influential surfers of the century (Surfer Magazine 1999). He is also a motivational speaker and business consultant for some of the world’s largest corporations including GM, Cisco, Disney and Price Waterhouse but above all, a loving father and husband. Mr. Tomson is available for interviews this week.

This year, the event committee took the entertainment to a new level, thanks to an entertainment sponsorship through Sonos. Reggae band, “One, Two, Tree” will perform during the cocktail reception. “Good Vibrations” will perform surf music and hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s. “Good Vibrations” features touring members from the band, Jan and Dean. “Hula Anyone” will also be performing polynesian dances to add to the surf-inspired theme.

This year, the Club is also adding an online auction for a selected group of its celebrity themed and luxury auction items at https://www.biddingforgood.com/surfsupforkids starting on Friday, April 11th and running through April 26th. Items include an electric guitar autographed by REO Speedwagon, Tiffany and Hermes jewelry, surfing lesson and surfboard from Shaun Tomson, script reading of the Simpsons at Warner Brothers Studios, and more.
