Ablitt’s Fine Cleaners, voted Santa Barbara’s best dry cleaner, is spreading the word and encouraging customers to bring back their plastic garment bags to be recycled. Earth Day is Tuesday April 22nd, and Ablitt’s is rewarding people “who take the plastic back” 22% off the price of dry cleaning and laundry services. For 4 years, Ablitt’s has been working with Trex®, who uses the recycled plastic bags to produce high-performance, eco-friendly composite decks. You can learn more about Trex by visiting http://www.trex.com/why-trex/how-to-choose-a-deck/eco-friendly-decking/.

Ablitt’s commitment to the environment goes well beyond their Earth Day promotion. Since developing companywide recycling programs, Ablitt’s has tripled their recycling output. Ablitt’s has also changed their cleaning operations to become more eco-friendly, including the use of GreenEarth Cleaning, a pure liquid silicone solvent made from sand, that is non hazardous or toxic to the environment. It also reduces the use of energy and water during the cleaning process. “It’s important we provide our dry cleaning services in a way that helps protect our environment,” said Sasha Ablitt, owner of Ablitt’s Fine Cleaners. “In fact it’s not only an important value for us, but for our customers.”
