What a strange way to promote a new restaurant (“Meatless on the Mesa”)! Chef Arnold’s implications that Mexican and Asian restaurants typically cook in “shitty oil” and that there’s something inherently wrong with Trade Joe’s bread did hurt my foodie sensitivities. Praising your own fresh and meatless food would have made a lot better impression than denigrating competitors; thankfully there are lots of them in Santa Barbara.
