Jogger Hit and Killed

A 45-year-old Santa Ynez man jogging on Refugio Road was killed early Friday morning when he was hit by a minivan driven by 89-year-old Grace Cota of Solvang. The victim was transported to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital, where he died just after 7 a.m. According to a report from California Highway Patrol, the weather was clear, cool, and dark at the time of the incident, and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision. The case is still under investigation.
