After talking with both candidates, I find Sergeant Sandra Brown possessed of unwavering integrity, excellent character and humility. My decision was easy. I am supporting Sandra Brown!
Under Bill Brown, rapes, robberies and murders have increased in Santa Barbara County while nationwide these crimes have decreased. Santa Barbara County is not poor — resources are not the issue. The issue is leadership. Under Sandra Brown, Isla Vista crime decreased over 50 percent, sexual assaults over 70 percent!
The sheriff should be someone we can trust to make decisions in the best interest of the citizens; who will act professionally to serve and protect the people. Sandra Brown will bring strong leadership and experience and will involve the community. Bill Brown seemingly spends more time being a politician than he does a sheriff and treats citizens, not as partners in protecting our community, but as subjects to be ruled.
“Leaders we admire do not place themselves at the center; they place others there. They do not seek the attention of people; they give it to others. They do not focus on satisfying their own aims and desires; they look for ways to respond to the needs and interests of their constituents. They are not self-centered; they concentrate on the constituent. … In serving a purpose, leaders strengthen credibility by demonstrating that they are not in it for themselves. … Being a servant may not be what many leaders had in mind when they choose to take responsibility. … but serving others is the most glorious and rewarding of all leadership tasks.” —James Kouzes and Barry Posner.
Sandra Brown brings leadership, integrity. management skills, and an understanding of what it means to serve. She will not change who she is because of the political office she will hold.
Please support Sandra Brown as the next sheriff of Santa Barbara County.

Really? Sgt. Brown was responsible for crime to be reduced by 50% and sexual assaults by 70% in Isla Vista? I don't believe Sergeant Brown was ever in charge of the Foot Patrol. Perhaps the reduction in crime, which I doubt since the writer didn't give any source information, should be credited to the person who was in charge.
The rest of the letter is campaign fluff with no real information.
I'd bet the writer doesn't like Sheriff Brown is because the Sheriff is strict on giving out concealed handgun permits.

PS
I did some checking. Sandra Brown wasn't even a sergeant when she was at the Foot Patrol. She had sergeants and a lieutenant supervising her, but she alone takes credit for any reduction in crime? That's not leadership.

Never met Sandra Brown. But her big endorsement is Peter Adam. That can't be a good sign.

Peter Adam is the only member of the board of supervisors that has the best use of the taxpayer's money as his first consideration.

Adam's idea is to fix all the potholes, his maintenance fixation, and you see where that went? He also wants to split his beloved North County away from the wicked South. This is what you want, Mr. Botany?

Yes.
Fixing potholes is much more sensible than building a jail we can't afford to staff.

Ask Sandra Brown about the MURDER OF JERRY BERNS I bet she runs away from you and wont answer any questions. Her corrupt coroners office and forensic pathologist DR ROBERT ANTHONY are doing the dance with the SANTA MARIA POLICE DEPARTMENT to cover up the truth about what happened. JERRY was 1 day away from filing a lawsuit against the corrupt police officers that illegally arrested him in 2009, That same cop that arrested him was after him the day before the his murder. JERRY was found shot to death and had been stunned with a stun gun in an alley the next night. He was shot 6 times.. The police solved the case overnight and let the killers free saying it was self defense, no more was heard about it. They say JERRY had a gun and it is all on a surveillance tape, but they wont show the tape to anyone. The investigation started with Sandra Brown and was botched intentionally from the beginning to help the SMPD with there fake investigation. Sandra didn't send an investigator to the scene for 6 hours while the SMPD was moving JERRY'S BODY. The body is the coroners jurisdiction, the coroner is supposed to be on the scene immediately unless the coroner releases jurisdiction of the body to the police, Sandra cant remember if she did or didn't, and didn't write it down. extremely incompetent and unprofessional. The family wasn't notified for 8 hours, once they know who the victim is they're to let the family know as soon as possible. I took photos of JERRY at the mortuary and there is nothing on the autopsy report about a stun gun burn. Sandra Brown has refused to set up a meeting with the only man that can answer my questions. DR ANTHONY is the one that needs to explain to me why his report is inaccurate, if I get my way an attorney will be asking not only him but all involved to explain there part in this MURDER COVER UP that means you too Sandra Brown.
