Santa Barbara County Fire crews are responding to a fire in the trees at Cathedral Oaks Road and Glen Annie Road in Goleta. The call went out at approximately 3:15 p.m., and at least five engine teams are on their way. Two dozer crews and two water-dropping helicopters are standing by. The exact location of the blaze is across from 960 Glen Annie Road, which is near Dos Pueblos High School and the Glen Annie Golf Course. According to emergency radio chatter, the incident has been named the Glen Annie Fire.

It’s currently 89 degrees in the area with west/southwest winds blowing at 6 mph with gusts up to 14 mph.

[UPDATE, 3:55 p.m.]: Around 30 minutes after a fire was first reported, county crews fully contained the small blaze that broke out Thursday afternoon in western Goleta. Officials said the fire appears to have started on the west bank of the Glen Annie Creek bed near a possible homeless camp. While teams continue to mop up the scene, drivers in the area are advised to use caution.
