The Goleta Entrepreneurial Magnet (GEM) — a collaboration between the city, the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce, and UCSB born in 2012 and aimed at keeping young entrepreneurs in the area — will soon be opening its 5,000-square-foot office space at 600 Pine Avenue in Old Town and is accepting applications for its Summer Accelerator program. GEM’s executive director, Doug Lynch, said the organization seeks budding science- and technology-focused companies and will provide them with tools to grow.
