Multiple Resources Hammer Fire in the North La Cumbre Area

A nearby neighbor who lives on the other side of a two story stucco home in the 3900 block of Calle Cita reported flames rising above the rooftop this evening shortly before 9pm. The short dead-end road is located in the upper La Cumbre area a block above Sunset Road. Concerned the fire might spread to the homes or into nearby vegetation, engines form both the City of Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara County responded with multiple engines, including a hook-and-ladder rig. The fire appeared to have started near the back of the home, which sustained major damage, but the fire was knocked down quickly.
