UCSB announced this week that David Marshall is the school’s new executive vice chancellor. Marshall served as the dean of Humanities and Fine Arts and as an English professor for 16 years. He became the first executive dean of the College of Letters and Science in 2005 and created the Instructional Technology Enhancement Initiative. Marshall replaces Gene Lucas, who earned close to $300,000 in base pay in the position, according to Transparent California. Lucas retired late last year after 11 years in the role.
