Detectives Investigate Suspected Car Theft


Santa Barbara police detectives are looking for a man suspected of stealing a black Volkswagen Cabrio midmorning on Tuesday, December 22 from used car dealer Milpas Motors. The Cabrio, with New York state license plates CGC-2797, was stolen from the dealership’s 735 North Milpas Street store at about 11:16 a.m. last Tuesday, according to a prepared statement police released this Tuesday.

Security camera photos show the male suspect wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and sporting short, dark-colored hair. The large white dog, which appears to accompany the suspect, is in fact Milpas Motors’ shop dog, the dealership confirmed.
