The Samala Showroom at the Chumash Casino will get temporarily downsized starting in March, to allow for renovations related to the resort’s expansion. A wall will go up in the concert venue to make room for casino’s non-smoking section, reducing the seating available from 1,400 to 624. A representative for the casino said that the sound system will be recalibrated accordingly.

The expansion plans, finalized by the tribe in September, will include more gaming space and a 12-story hotel wing. Work started in October and will be underway through May 2016.
