Public’s Help Needed in Accident Investigation

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who witnessed a traffic accident Tuesday in Goleta that left a woman with severe injuries to call investigators at 961-7518. Officials did not elaborate on why they’re asking for the public’s help in the investigation.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., a silver Volvo SUV was traveling southbound on Patterson Avenue when it struck the driver side of a silver Mercedes turning from Overpass Road onto northbound Patterson Avenue. The female driver of the Mercedes had to be extricated from the car, and she was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Volvo sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
