Alternative transportation junkies have long salivated at the prospect of building a separate pathway for cyclists, pedestrians, and runners along stretches of Las Positas and Modoc roads. This Tuesday, the City Council authorized spending up to $1 million for design, planning, and environmental review of such a project encompassing 2.6 miles of roadway. The project would better link Hendry’s Beach, Elings Park, and the Douglas Family Preserve, proponents say.
