Poor Planning Led to Long Lines at Glass Animals
Next Time, Entry Will be Easier at the Earl Warren
A combination of poor pre-planning and too few security guards led to slow lines and long waits for the 1,800 attendees at Sunday night’s Glass Animals show at Earl Warren, according to Scott Grieve, CEO of Earl Warren. The security company, hired by Earl Warren, prioritized weapons — they found some 17 knives that night — alcohol, and drugs. According to The Goodland, “The security team hired by Earl Warren followed the directions they were given by Earl Warren and the police to thoroughly check each attendee, which resulted in long wait times.”
As Grieve said, Earl Warren hosts about 10 large events like Glass Animals each year. “Maybe we’re not as well-oiled as the Bowl, but we’re experienced enough that this shouldn’t have happened,” he added. And so, Earl Warren and promoters The Goodland, Red Eye Production, and Music Is Love have already met to discuss what went wrong and what can be improved next time, and will meet again Friday.
When Late Night Society, Tchami, and Too $hort play next weekend at Earl Warren, Grieve said concertgoers can expect an earlier entry time, that the beer garden will be open sooner, and that they will not undergo airport-level security.
