It doesn’t matter if you are visiting, new to S.B., or a native. If you are lucky enough to be here for Fiesta, you can be as busy as you want, or pick just a few things to do. Let The Santa Barbara Independent’s annual guide to Old Spanish Days help plan this year’s festivities for you. Circle must-sees in the guide such as Fiesta Pequeña, the mercados, Noches de Ronda, and the parades (see the entire lineup for El Desfile Histórico here), or close your eyes, point, and surprise yourself with Our Lady of Guadalupe Mercado, Fiesta at Paseo Nuevo, or a tour of Mission Santa Barbara or the County Courthouse. This year’s guide will introduce you to this year’s Saint Barbara, Christine Herrera, and you will learn about two fiesta-themed exhibits, Project Fiesta! Building a Complete History of Old Spanish Days at the S.B. Historical Museum and Picturing Old Spanish Days at Sullivan Goss, An American Gallery. With entertainment, culture, food, and tradition, there is something for everybody at Old Spanish Days Fiesta, so remember: ¡Viva la Fiesta!
