Police are looking for a child annoyance suspect who followed a mother and daughter near Hollister and Walnut Lane on Saturday around 5:30 p.m., about five blocks west of Hollister Elementary School. The two had been walking to the 5100 block of San Lorenzo Drive when they noticed a man behind them touching his genitals. They went home and later found the man in the house. He brushed up against the girl before a male resident of the home chased him out. The suspect — described as in his thirties, a darkly complected Hispanic man with acne scars, of average build, and wearing a grey T-shirt, shorts, neon-yellow tennis shoes, a cross-shaped earring, and a gold-chain necklace — was last seen running southbound on San Felipe Drive.

Sheriff’s deputies from three area stations swarmed the neighborhood to try to locate the man; a K-9 team and Air Support Unit also responded, but the man was not found. He is wanted on charges of child annoyance, criminal trespass, and lewd acts in public. The Sheriff’s Office is asking for help with the man’s identity or information on similar incidents at (805) 683-2724. Anonymous tips can be called in to (805) 681-4171 or entered at the website sbsheriff.org/ at the “Contact Us” drop-down menu.
