Goleta Ranked California’s 50th Safest City

Of this year’s top 50 safest cities in California, the City of Goleta fills the 50th spot on the list, according to a Safewise report released in June. The ranking, based on information the home security company gathered from FBI Crime Reports and population data, marks the city’s third consecutive year on the list. With a score of an expected 1.14 violent crimes and 13.76 property crimes per every thousand person, Goleta is the only city out of Santa Barbara County’s eight incorporated to make this year’s rankings. Carpinteria joined Goleta in the top 100 and ranked 60th overall.
