The President of the United States is the representative of this country around the world. Some might say the President is the leader of the entire western world.

The President of the United States, for many, is the embodiment of what the United States stands for — representing the very best that we can find in this great country of ours.

The President of the United States is, arguably, the most powerful position in the most powerful country. As such, this person should command respect by the actions and words he or she projects to the world.

This person needs to be credible, being honest in all regards. This person needs to be dependable, which means we can count on his or her word. This person needs to have a social conscience, by putting the needs of the country ahead of personal objectives. This person needs to have dignity, reflecting high standards of personal behavior. This person needs to be informed, demonstrate an understanding of facts, events, and personalities. This person needs to engage in diplomacy and tact, rather than be a bully with a bigger stick. This person should be persuasive, someone who is able to speak well and uses words effectively to influence people toward the greater good.

Does Donald Trump have any of these positive character traits? No. In fact and deed, on every one of the points, Trump has demonstrated to the world that he is the exact opposite of credible, dependable, conscientious, dignified, informed, diplomatic, or well spoken. He brings out the worst in everyone and must not be given license to turn the office of the President of the United States into a tragic laughing stock of the rest of the world.
