County, State, and Forest Service Officials Give Press Conference on Whittier Fire

At 2 p.m., officials gathered at the Los Padres National Forest headquarters in Goleta and gave updates on the Whittier Fire. Watch the press conference in full below:

For a live update on the status of the Whittier Fire — including acreage burned, damage to structures, containment efforts, and evacuations — visit The Santa Barbara Independent‘s Facebook page today, July 9, at 2 p.m., when fire officials will be holding a press conference from Los Padres National Forest headquarters in Goleta. Santa Barbara County Fire Department officials will be joined by information officers from the U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire.
