Elderly Man Missing in Downtown Area


An older man with memory problems left his home on the 1000 block of Laguna Street on Tuesday afternoon and hasn’t been seen since. John Thynne is 85, 5‘5”, has a British accent, and was wearing a tan blazer and pants, yellow shirt, and gray shoes when he left home. Santa Barbara Police ask members of the public to call 9-1-1 if they see Thynne.

[UPDATE] After further contact with various family members, John Thynne was discovered to have driven to the Los Angeles area to go visiting. The family notified police around 3 p.m. on Wednesday that he was safe.
