Game of the Week: San Luis Obispo Blues at S.B. Foresters

Central Coast Rivals Come to Pershing Park to Take On Undefeated Home Team

The Foresters got the season off to a 3-0 start last weekend, including an 11-7 victory over the Healdsburg Packers in their California Collegiate League opener. S.L.O. has traditionally been one of their strongest league rivals. The Blues go back to 1946, a decade before the original Foresters started playing in Santa Barbara. Like the Foresters, the Blues have nurtured college ballplayers who have gone on to big things. Their alumni include Major League pitchers Kyle Hendricks (Cubs) and Ross Stripling (Dodgers). Sat.: 6pm; Sun.: 2pm. Pershing Park, 100 Castillo St. $3-$7. See
