Frank Edward Miller

1920 - 2008, Santa Barbara

Born in Los Angeles on July 12, 1920 to parents Harry E. Miller and Lillian F. (Smith) Miller. Served in the U.S. Coast Guard during W.W.II, honorably discharged on March 5, 1945. Frank married the former Betty Jane Sherman of South Gate on July 3, 1943; they celebrated their sixty-fifth year of marriage in 2008.

A teacher for most of his life, Frank spent much of his career at La Colina Junior High School teaching Industrial Arts. He was always delighted during his retirement years when former students would recognize him and remember the dedication he brought to his classroom each day.

Frank Miller passed away at Senior Living Concepts on December 15, 2008. He leaves behind his loving wife, Betty Miller; daughter, Debby Anderson (Tim), Santa Barbara; son, Ron Miller, Cupertino, CA; grandchildren, Laura Turner, Santa Barbara, Elizabeth Feltman, Brooklyn, N.Y., Karin Miller, Sacramento, CA, Brian Miller, Cupertino, CA, and two great-granddaughters.

The family wishes to thank Senior Living Concepts for treating Frank with kindness and courtesy.

He was a good guy but didn't put up with any nonsense. I had him for math and drafting back at La Colina.

I had always wondered what happened to him and I ran into him at Longs a few years ago and had a nice conversation with him.
