Sharon “Susie” Anderson, October 8, 1949. Susie Anderson passed away on Sunday February 21, 2010 after battling a brief but aggressive form of cancer. She was 3rd of 4 daughters born to Juanita Yeager and Ward Anderson and spent her early years in the Ohio area. Possessing an adventurous spirit Susie made her way to California with a longtime friend Lindy Taylor. In 1981the two packed up a 24 foot U-haul with no job prospects in site and made their way to San Diego California. She eventually made her way to Santa Barbara where she married, gave birth to two boys and became active in the Rebuilding of Roosevelt School, served on the Police and Fire Commission and most recently served as a board member on the Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District. She was active in Nite Moves and enjoyed beermaking at the Brewhouse

She is survived by her three sisters, Judy, Brenda and Patricia, their children Paul, Heather, Shannon, Adam and Keith. Her two adult children Robert “Pen” and Alex, first cousin Steve Yeager and retired Major General Charles “Chuck” Yeager as well as a long list of extended family and friends in the Santa Barbara area.

Susie was always optimistic about her life that was forever evidenced by her ever present “Twinkle in her Eye” and will be greatly missed.

An informal service is planned at Shoreline Park on Sunday, February 28, at 11:00 am followed by a reception at the Brewhouse, 224 W. Montecito Street, Santa Barbara.

Sharon became a good friend during the SB City election season last year. I will miss her and am really sorry I did not see this obit until now.
