Robert “Bob” Angle succumbed to his two-year battle with cancer on the morning of April 5th. His wife of 54 years was by his side, and surrounding the room were the many ship and airplane models he built himself.

Bob’s fascination with boats began as a youth growing up outside Fort Lauderdale FL, after being transplanted from Ford City, Pennsylvania where he was born. In high school he won several medals for swimming. After graduating from Harvard University, he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and was selected as most outstanding graduate of the jet training program in 1955.

On May 11, 1956, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, he married Charlotte Jean Keel. Then he attended Stanford Law School and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. In 1962 he moved his family to Santa Barbara where he became a well-respected attorney and co-founded several local law firms. He also authored Handbook of Probate Law (Charing Cross Publishing 1988). Throughout his life he had the pleasure of visiting many different countries around the World. Since 2004 he’d enjoyed living in Ojai.

He is survived by his wife Jean Angle of Ojai, daughter Sandra Angle Evans of Ojai, daughter Melinda Angle of Carpinteria, daughter Lisa Angle of Santa Barbara, and grandson Ben Sheldon of Carpinteria. His ashes were scattered at sea on April 15, 2010.
