Patricia Jean Logan Knight

1953 - 2010, Santa Barbara

08/18/1953 - 01/15/2010

Known as Patti to most, PJ and Pitty-Pat to many others, she was a flamboyant, creative, outgoing lady. Those characteristics were seen in her personal and professional life, through her fashion statements, creative cuisines and award winning kitchen designs. Her demanding sense of perfection was integral to all she did. She instilled confidence in others, encouraging them to ‘step outside the box’.

She practised recycling long before it became popular. Her generous nature gave her great pleasure in giving away her possessions, without expecting anything in return, from recipes to kitchen gadgets, furniture, fine art, antiques, clothes, shoes and jewelry. Most of all, she gave of herself and her time, discovering the truth that it really is more blessed to give than to receive. Her last parting gift was her body, given to medical science.

For her, life was to be celebrated. She planned events to mark life milestones and even trivial happenings. If there was no official reason to celebrate she would create one. She planned her finest event of all as a family B-B-Q to say her good byes.

During the final days of her cancer she showed how to live life and to leave it with grace and dignity and yet with humor. An open invitation to come and celebrate her life is extended to all who knew and worked with her, to join family and friends on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM at the family home at 655 Edgewood Dr. in Goleta CA.
