Randy C. Leong

1952 - 2011, Santa Barbara

Randy C. Leong was born on January 11, 1952 in Bakersfield, CA to Richard & Frances (Lee) Leong. He graduated from Foothill High School in Bakersfield in 1970.

Randy enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. After the service, Randy moved to Santa Barbara where he met his future wife, Gail. Randy and Gail lived in Santa Barbara and Lompoc where their two sons were born. Throughout his life, Randy touched the lives of many people with his generous spirit and willingness to help others. He made friends wherever he went along the journey of his life. A constant in Randy’s life was his love for his two sons. He loved his boys and was an excellent father.

Randy worked for many years as a biomedical engineer.

Randy passed into eternal life on October 14, 2011 after an illness, which left his heart in a weakened condition. He is survived by and deeply missed by his two sons, Randall and Garrett, his mother, Frances and her husband Wyman Chew, his ex-wife and friend, Gail Murray, and many other friends and relatives.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Randy’s life to be held at Doughty- Calhoun-O’Meara at 1100 Truxtun Avenue on Friday October 21 at 11 am.
