Raymond Douglas Meyer, 53 passed on Feb 2, 2012 due to a stroke.

Ray Meyer was born to Jack Meyer and Joan Devereaux Wesler Meyer in New Jersey. He moved to Santa Barbara in his middle school years, 1972. Moved away to Florida and moved back to Santa Barbara in 1977. He attended Santa Barbara City College. Ray's father, Jack Meyer was a pitcher for the Philadelphia, Phillies. Ray's brother, Jack Meyer known for his surfboard and clothing artwork, was also from Santa Barbara. He is survived by his sister Cindy Meyer Hauck. Ray is also survived by his niece Leeya Washuta and nephew Jeremy Castillio, and beloved Lenae Lytel-Stahr, from Santa Barbara.

Doug, Ray, Ray Ray, and Ray Cat… just a few names that we all knew this great guy as. Doug, loved life to the fullest, loved sports, politics, people, and was a very talented surfer and musician. He played in bands around town for years, drums, lead vocals. Loved the ocean, and we all know where that was. He fell in love at the beach with his girlfriend that he called Wifey, Lenae Lytel-Stahr. Ray worked for the county parks dept, and also Eling's Park, ran the swap program and everyone said, now that was a cool boss, always the surfer guy.

Come and celebrate Doug’s celebration of life, Saturday March 24th, 2012 2pm, will be held nowhere else, except East Beach Pavilion, come and share your Doug stories, or your Ray Ray stories, you know who you are, if you knew him you'll have a story. Doug went right to heaven to be with his mom, dad and brother jack.
