Pamela Cyrena Zuccarini
1942 - 2012, Carpinteria
10/31/1942 - 09/25/2012
Our beloved Pam passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 25th in Port Angeles Washington while visiting her daughter Maria and her family.
Pam was born in Detroit, Michigan and came to California in 1946 with her parents and older brother, Noel. She was a true California girl enjoying dancing on the beach in her high school days to classics like La Bamba, Chantilly Lace and all the great tunes of the 1950’s. She loved cruising the first In and Out Burger joint in the LA area with her partner in crime for a long long time, Maria McFarland, the woman for whom she named her daughter. Pam and Maria were best friends since Kindergarten, 65 years. One couldn’t ask for more in a friend. Pam generally lived to laugh and bring sunshine to all who knew her.
Pam married Richard Zuccarini in 1962 with whom she had her daughter Maria and was widowed in 1993.
Pam is known locally by many people as the smiling face behind the counter at Cox Cable in Loreto Plaza for 16 years. Pam retired 8 years ago and has been enjoying retirement walking on the beach in her home town of Carpinteria, traveling to Washington twice a year to see her daughter and keeping up with her many local friends and family.
Pam was preceded in death by her brother Noel in 1986, her parents, Kaye and Larry Cimini of Carpinteria, as well as her brother Marc Cimini of Northridge, just last year.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria and Marshal Roragen and grandsons, Tyler (and Erica) and Matthew. She had a great-granddaughter, Sophia.
She is also survived by her loving local family, including sister Mona and Steve Cousens and niece Camille and Gary Fruin, as well as her niece, Hillary Halvorson and family, her great nieces, Cara and Delaney, as well as Izzy and Maeve, her great grand nieces.
We are all saddened by her passing and have lost a ray of sunshine in our lives. Pam loved everyone and all who met her loved her.
As her niece Hillary wrote on her Facebook page:
"Heaven just got the best hugger ever!"
We love you Pam, you are always in our hearts.
