Betty Jane (Sherman) Miller

Born in Los Angeles, CA, on June 5, 1925 to parents Chester N. Sherman and Alice V.(Marlatt) Sherman. Married Frank E. Miller (1920-2008) on July 3, 1943; they celebrated their 65th Wedding anniversary in 2008.

Betty was a housewife and mother for most of her life. She was a writer of poetry for children, and a painter of oils and miniatures. During the 1970s, She worked at the 3 Wishes gift shop in Santa Barbara, and sold some of her paintings there. She also worked at the Santa Barbara Public Library for several years. She graduated from Santa Barbara City College in 1972 with an AA in English Literature.

Betty Miller passed away at Mountain Vista Manor in Ojai on April 24th, 2011. She is survived by her Son, Ron Miller of Cupertino, and Daughter, Debby Anderson (Tim) of Santa Barbara; Grandchildren Laura Turner, Santa Barbara; Elizabeth Feltman Smith (Jonah), Los Angeles; Karin Miller, Las Vegas NV; and Brian Miller, Cupertino; and 2 great-granddaughters.

The family wishes to thank Mountain Vista Manor for treating Betty with kindness and courtesy.

No services are planned. Please honor Betty's memory by living simply, re-using and recycling, walking instead of driving, supporting the arts, and donating to the environmentally-protective organizations and Arts-supporting organizations of your choice.
