1960 - 2015
Gina Disparte was born in Los Angeles on March 24, 1960 and died in the Santa Ynez High Valley on December 24, 2015. She graduated from Santa Ynez High School in 1978 and attended Southwestern University in Texas. Her warm and caring presence will be missed by here many friends in the Santa Ynez Valley, Palos Verdes Peninsula and Texas. Animals were with her throughout her life; hamsters, guinea pigs, and turtles at age 6, rabbits at age 12, her first horse "Windy" at age 13, many dogs over the years and during her last years her beloved horse "Kiwi". As an adult Gina became an expert breeder of exotic birds. Her specialty was hand rasing rare birds from hatchlings to maturity. Gina was twice married: ten years to Arthur Root and eight years to Mark Quiroz Sr. She is survived by sons Jacob Root, Cody Root, David Quiroz, Mark Quiroz Jr., daughter Raeanna Quiroz, her father Charlie Disparte and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband Mark Quiroz Sr. and her mother Rojan Disparte. Memorial service: 2 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016.
