Lee passed away peacefully at home after a year long fight with colon cancer. In the end Cancer won: but everyone who met him was touched by his strength and courage. He was a creative soul a poet, a painter, a photographer and a chef. He loved wild birds and animals (especially dogs), the ocean, vineyards, rivers and rose gardens. He enjoyed diving, fishing, bike riding and mushroom hunting. Everyone felt closer to nature after their experience with Lee. He sought beauty in everything he did and never forgot to stop and smell a rose. He loved listening to Miles Davis, Ravi Shankar, Bob Dylan and John Lennon. He loved to read Pablo Neruda , Kerouac and his favorite poet was Rumi .

His passion for the arts and cooking was truly an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He fought so valiantly to beat his disease and gave other Cancer patients who also suffered hope and compassion. He always gave comfort and love to everyone around him. His spirit will remain with us and give us strength to carry on.

He was cremated and his remains will be scattered at sea where his soul can ride the waves and swim with the dolphins and be free from pain and suffering.

He is survived by his daughter Raven, brothers Mark and Roger, wonderful mother Jeanne, and his forever soul mate, Paula.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in his name may do so at their local Humane Society.

“Awareness of impermanence is encouraged, so that when it is coupled with our appreciation of the enormous potential of our human existence, it will give us a sense of urgency that we must use every precious moment. ”
