Russell Smith

January 28, 1946 – August 13, 2009

Russell was born in Lemister, MA., and was a foster child to a family that included siblings. He served in the military, married a Flight Attendant and lived in Florida for a time.

Russell came to Santa Barbara on a vacation and never went back ! Russell was a painter by trade and worked at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in the early 1980’s . He then became a private contractor for painting. Russell was a gifted artist both with paintings and his writing.He loved the ocean , and loved to sail.

Russell was a very warm and friendly man with a very generous heart. He cared deeply for his friends. Russell has left his friends with many fond and often funny memories and stories. We will miss his friendly smile.
