The California Supreme Court (shown here in the S.B. Courthouse in 2006) ruled Monday that the city waiver signed by the mother of Katie Janeway didn’t cover gross negligence. The city will now head to trial court to defend against gross negligence charges in Janeway’s 2002 drowning.
