T.M. Storke's newspaper editorialized against Edmond Hanson, arguing he was supported by "mental dyspeptics," and the "underworld." Hanson won anyway, later beat back a recall, and then successfully recalled four sitting council members and had them replaced with politicos he'd endorsed. Ultimately, though Storke would get the last word, which in Hanson's case was to say as little as possible.
