BUCKED OFF: In years past, Ranchero rides drew such Republican heavy-hitters as former Nevada governor Paul Laxalt, then-California governor Ronald Reagan, Andrew Shaw, and William Clark, who would later serve in the White House as Reagan's national security advisor. But this year, a liberal Hollywood producer new to Santa Ynez stymied the Rancheros' more public activities.
