MORAL WATCHMAN: Cotton Mather (pictured) remained in Boston for most of the Salem trials, but the minister was a staunch supporter of rooting out witchcraft and is remembered as a pivotal character, mostly because he wrote himself into the history in his Wonders of the Invisible World (1693).
