The ADA was signed into law on July 26th, 1990. The law makes it illegal to discriminate against people with disabilities in transportation and employment. It also requires private businesses and government entities to provide accommodations such as ramps for wheelchairs, information in Braille and sign language interpreters.
Join us on Saturday July 26th, 2014 from 3-5 PM at the Eastside Library, 1102 East Montecito Street, Santa Barbara for a video and stories about the campaign to pass the ADA. There will also be a discussion about how to continue to implement the law in Santa Barbara.
The Eastside Library is wheelchair accessible and both sign language and Spanish interpretation will be provided upon request. For more info or to request interpretation please contact firstname.lastname@example.org by July 19th.
This event is free and food will be provided.
