Local Artist Eddy Expresses Scenes of Santa Barbara Through
Color and Versatility in Landscapes and Architecture
WHO: Lucky Penny, Santa Barbara Artist Kevin Eddy
WHAT: The Lark, Santa Barbara’s acclaimed and most talked about restaurant in the
Funk Zone, has unveiled a new installation by Kevin Eddy, a Santa Barbara artist.
Kevin Eddy is a Fine Art Photographer specializing in landscapes and architecture using color for a personalized expression of his subject. Raised in Tucson, Kevin discovered his father’s camera at the age of four, beginning his exploration in the art of photography.
Eddy’s education eventually brought him to the famed Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. His new work showcased at The Lark is created with a Nikon Digital SLR and includes over a dozen stunning images. Eddy recently won a national award from The Stone Crop Gallery in Maine. The gallery’s 3rd annual exhibition featured cell phone photography and recognized Eddy for his broad range of color and versatility in landscapes.
Living on the central coast has given Eddy a great opportunity to pursue his dream of creating a new boundary in Fine Art Photography.
The Lark’s General Manager Dan Russo states, “Being part of the Funk Zone gives us a natural relationship with our neighborhood and artists. The best way to support our community of talent is by presenting them in our space and sharing local art with our customers. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to broaden this program here as well as Lucky Penny so that we may continue to foster other young talent in Santa Barbara.”
The installation will be featured along the front hallway of The Lark. Other public art includes the outdoor murals at Lucky Penny and five rotating murals on the front building’s doors on Yanonali Street by other local artists.
