We are proud to be one of the three oldest agencies in California dedicated to animal welfare. Since 1887 the Santa Barbara Humane Society has tirelessly provided TLC to our cats and provided other animal care services to the people and animal populations of Santa Barbara County.
The Humane Society occupies a five-acre site midway between Carpinteria and Gaviota, serving the community with animal adoption services, an animal shelter, a spay/neuter and vaccination clinic, and humane education center, boarding kennels, a barnyard for large animals, and inspection and animal rescue services. The Santa Barbara Humane Society is a local, private, non-profit animal welfare organization.
