On Tuesday, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara accepted a generous donation of $4,000 to support our summer science lab and scholarships for children who reside at Transition House homeless shelter.
The Technology Operations team at lynda.com believes it is our duty to recycle responsibility and give back to our community. We utilize technology to distribute our mission of lifelong learning on a global scale. We chose to give back to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara based on their commitment to inspiring and enabling our young people today. Michael Lyndon, lynda.com IT Department.
We are so thankful that lynda.com has stepped in to support the club’s summer science lab. This is the third year of the program, and we lost funding from a foundation that shuttered its doors earlier this year. The generous folks at lynda.com agreed to come to our aid to provide the funds necessary to purchase the supplies that we need to teach the science curriculum. In addition, this donation is covering full scholarships for the entire summer for 6 children who currently live at Transition House. This will allow them to be in a safe, structured environment during the day, while their parents are seeking employment. Monique Littlejohn, Development Director.
