Santa Barbara Harbor & Seafood Festival
Celebrates the Heart of What Makes Santa Barbara a Working Harbor
SANTA BARBARA, CA – October 3, 2014
Join us Saturday, October 11, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the 13th annual Santa Barbara Harbor & Seafood Festival. The event lures seafood lovers to Santa Barbara Harbor for one of the community’s most popular events. Free to the public and timed to celebrate the opening of commercial lobster season, the Festival showcases regional seafood in addition to two stages with live music, maritime education, free boat rides, children’s activities, dockside tours and more.
The Harbor & Seafood Festival provides guests with an interactive day that reminds residents and visitors alike that Santa Barbara Harbor is a working harbor where more than 100 fishermen land about 10 million pounds of seafood each year. And bring in $35 - $40 million to the local economy and beyond!
Festival-goers can enjoy the bounty of the Santa Barbara Channel, which is rich in sustainably harvested, high-quality seafood. Meet fishermen face-to-face. Select fresh-caught lobster and crab and have them cooked on the spot. Other specialty food booths include fish tacos, barbequed albacore, fresh-boiled crab, Brophy Bros. clam chowder, and seafood paella. While Spencer the Gardner, Fish and the Seaweeds, and Jonny & the Painkillers play live on the main stage, visitors can shop for arts & crafts, view a Mike DeGruy movie series in the Maritime Museum, or take free harbor rides aboard the Double Dolphin and Azure Seas.
The Santa Barbara Harbor & Seafood Festival is presented by the City of Santa Barbara Waterfront Department, Commercial Fishermen of Santa Barbara, Inc., Santa Barbara Harbor Merchants’ Association, and the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. Visit www.HarborFestival.org
